PortMiami dredge finally done but questions remain about reef damage

Federal officials continue to argue over environmental damage done by the $205 million PortMiami deep dredge project, including destruction of coral in Government Cut, the loss of several acres of reefs off Miami Beach, and additional damage to reefs and seagrass from silt and sediment. The county will ultimately foot the bill for any work to repair the reef.
