City wants to give away more public waterfront

The City of Miami wants to change the land use designation of 5.3 acres of the south side of Watson Island from “Public Parks and Recreation” to “Major Institutional, Public Facilities, Transportation and Utilities”.  The item goes before PZAB on Wednesday, September 2.  The City of Miami Beach has submitted an objection, citing concerns about traffic on MacArthur Causeway and arguing that the change would not be in accordance with Miami’s own Comprehensive Plan.
